2013 Lesson Schedule

June  2013

Monday evening from 8 to 9 pm at Des Moines Ballroom (2745 Douglas Avenue).  Balboa is a dance from the 1920's and 30's.  Designed to be danced closely on the crowded dance floor, this dance is a true treasure.  Join us for in June for the Balboa experience.

June 29th & 30th at Madhat Ballroom we will be teaching the Big Apple and Lindy Chorus in a two day workshop.  Spicy Pickles will be playing on Saturday evening from 8 to 11 pm.

July 2013

Charleston time!!!  Join us on Monday evenings from 8 to 9 pm to learn 20's and 30's style Charleston.

August 2013

Collegiate shag is a dance full of energy and style!  Learn this dance on Monday evenings in August from 8 to 9 pm at Des Moines Ballroom.

Spetember 2013

Jitterbug, East Coast Swing will be the dance to learn in September.  Monday evenings in September from 8 to 9 pm at Des Mones Ballroom.

Each month we will start a new series.

Don't forget the FREE half hour lesson at Madhat Ballroom every Thursday night at 7:30 right before Thursday Night Swing Social!

The dances we teach are all "classic vintage swing" dances just the way they were done in the 1920's, 30's and 40's.  Each class will be based on the level of the students enrolled.  We will not only teach footwork, but attitude, styling and techniques that were very commonly seen on the dance floor.  When this important part of our history is brought back to life, the whole room starts jumping.
